What To Expect At Our Office
1 When You Arrive
You can expect to be greeted with respect and courtesy by our conscientious and helpful staff.
2 Patient History
You will be asked to complete a few forms on your first visit so that you can accurately share your current state of health with the Doctor.
We will consult with you to further evaluate your health and to determine which type of evaluation and examination procedures will benefit your specific needs.
The Doctor will examine your spine and nervous system through a number of diagnostic tests and by utilizing state of the art examination procedures.
To assist the Doctor in the examination, a number of diagnostic tools may be used in order to best understand the health of your spine. Some of these tools include, but are no limited to, X-Ray, Surface Electromyography (sEMG), and Computerized Infrared Thermography.
After thorough analysis and investigation, we will report and show you what we have found and inform you if and how we can help you. Very often the cause of dysfunction in the body is a vertebral subluxation. The Chiropractor's most common course of action is the adjustment which restores the normal flow of neural information.
In order to better assess the true status of your spine, x-rays of your spine may be utilized. This technique is used by both chiropractic doctors and other health care professionals as a proven method to determine the structural integrity of your spinal column.
Once we have taken the x-rays, we analyze the results to determine if any subluxations are present in your spine, and if any damage to your spine has occured.
After we have analyzed your x-rays and results of other tests, we will discuss what we have found with you. As well as x-ray, we may recommend further analysis by such methods as sEMG and thermography, both computerized diagnostic tools to help determine the health of your spine and nervous system. Once we have discussed a course of treatment, you will be invited back for your next visit. In most cases, a series of adjustments is the best course of action.back to top
Surface Electromyography (sEMG)
As a modern Chiropractic office, we are committed to using the highest quality research and clinical grade chiropractic instrumentation available for the purpose of detecting and correcting Vertebral Subluxations. Computerized Spinal Examination, specifically Surface Electromyography is used to evaluate the relative levels of electrical activity associated with Vertebral Subluxations.
By interfering with the communication between the brain and the rest of the body, a Vertebral Subluxation produces improper electrical impulses, which can lead to poor health. This altered or abnormal state is then recorded and displayed by computerized sEMG. sEMG provides qualitative and quantitative data to assist us in determining which areas/levels of the nervous system are being adversely affected by Vertebral Subluxations.
Once the test is done, the results are analyzed instantly and explained in language you can understand.back to top
Computerized Infrared Thermography
A neuro-diagnostic procedure primarily used by Chiropractors and neurologists, it is performed by moving a sensitive temperature scanning instrument along the sides of the spine. Any irritation to the nervous system will be detected from the temperature differential scans. This procedure is performed to determine if nerve interference is present within the part of the nervous system controlling organs, glands and blood vessels, and after a series af adjustments, to determine the degree of neurological correction. This instrument is the most sophisticated Infrared Thermography available to practitioners today.back to top
